Completed Capital Projects

Recognized nationally for its stunning beauty and natural and economic resources, Washington State is one of the most diverse states in our country. With premier destinations that include magnificent mountain ranges and plateaus, ocean beaches, forests, marine parks, land and water trails, the breathtaking Columbia River Gorge, and vast shrub-steppe lands of Eastern Washington, many adventures await visitors at Washington state parks.

The Washington state park system, one of the oldest in the nation, celebrated 100 years in 2013. To ensure a legacy of excellence for our beautiful park system, the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission adopted a Centennial 2013 Plan. A top priority of the plan is to rebuild the state park system to provide our citizens access to safer parks with modern conveniences. Below is a list of partial projects completed in developing this vision.
