[DRAFT] Boat Launch Closed due to water level

Preliminary engineering studies called for a drawdown of the Wanapum Reservoir on the Columbia River as a precautionary measure due to the crack found at the dam. Water levels above Wanapum Dam (forebay) are anticipated to be 26 feet lower than the normal high operating level to reduce the pressure on the spillway. Wanapum Boat launch will be closed until further notice.

As a reminder from Grant County PUD & State Parks: No trespassing on Grant PUD owned property. Water levels can change without warning. Motorized vehicles are not allowed on shorelines, State Parks and Grant PUD lands and waters are closed to metal detecting. Destruction, injury, defacement or removal of Grand PUD property, vegetation, rock, sand, soil, or minerals is prohibited.

Excavation, destruction, defacement, removal or disturbance of any sites, materials, or artifacts having archaeological or historical significance is prohibited.

Anyone found to be in violation could be subject to Criminal Trespass (RCW 9A.52.080) and/or Malicious Mischief (RCW 9A.48.100).
