Clean Vessel Program and Pumpout Locations
The federal Clean Vessel Act provides funds to help reduce pollution from vessel sewage
discharges into U.S. waters. These funds come from taxes on the sales of fishing equipment
and on recreational boating fuel. Washington State Parks makes grants to both public and
private sector boating facility operators for the construction, renovation, operation and
maintenance of pumpout and dump stations for use by recreational boaters. The program also
provides boater education to promote public awareness about boat sewage and its proper
disposal.
In 2011, Washington boaters prevented 4,093,514 gallons of sewage from
contaminating Washington's waters by using Clean Vessel Act pumpout facilities.
A clean marine environment is very important for everyone to enjoy the beautiful bodies
of water throughout Washington. Boaters can help keep Washington's waterways clean. Washington
offers more than 150 disposal facilities with a variety of stationary and portable pumpouts
that provide a convenient way to properly dispose of boat sewage. For additional convenience,
on-the-water restrooms and pumpout skiffs that can service boats right in their slips also
are available.

National Parks - Stehekin Landing is a public marina with an accessible pumpout. This facility is open in the Spring through the Fall, 24 hours a day. There is a floating dock available year around. The facility has a full service pumpout. You will encounter a Sea land, saniservice model DS4 pumpout at this facility. There are 2 slips available for pumpout usage. Access to this pumpout is limited to vessels with a length of no more than 30 feet. There is a stationary pumpout. The stationary pumpout is located within the marina. This facility has a Porta-Potty dump station. The Porta Potty dumpstation is located next to the stationary pumpout.
Marine Services
Gasoline can be purchased on site. There is a boat launch available. The facility offers a boat haul out. Over night moorage is available for a fee. There are 50 guest moorage slips available. The total estimated guest boat capacity is 65.
Day Use/Campground Accommodations
This facility offers over night amenities. There are campsites available for over night stays. Campsite fires are allowed. Tables, grills, flush toliet restrooms. Permit required from Golden West Visitor Center. A restroom is located in the camping area, with flushable toilets. Showers are available for a fee. This facility also offers day use amenities. There are picnic tables available. The facility has a pay telephone available.
