Clean Vessel Program and Pumpout Locations
The federal Clean Vessel Act provides funds to help reduce pollution from vessel sewage
discharges into U.S. waters. These funds come from taxes on the sales of fishing equipment
and on recreational boating fuel. Washington State Parks makes grants to both public and
private sector boating facility operators for the construction, renovation, operation and
maintenance of pumpout and dump stations for use by recreational boaters. The program also
provides boater education to promote public awareness about boat sewage and its proper
disposal.
In 2011, Washington boaters prevented 4,093,514 gallons of sewage from
contaminating Washington's waters by using Clean Vessel Act pumpout facilities.
A clean marine environment is very important for everyone to enjoy the beautiful bodies
of water throughout Washington. Boaters can help keep Washington's waterways clean. Washington
offers more than 150 disposal facilities with a variety of stationary and portable pumpouts
that provide a convenient way to properly dispose of boat sewage. For additional convenience,
on-the-water restrooms and pumpout skiffs that can service boats right in their slips also
are available.

The facility is within Thurston County.
Driving Directions: From I-5 take the Sleater-Kinney exit (#108). Head North on Sleater-Kinney. Turn Right onto South Bay Rd. South Bay Rd. turns into Johnson Point Rd. Turn right on 92nd Ave NE. Proceed to the end of the Road where it jogs to the right and then take a left down the hill on Gallea St. NE to the Marina.

Zittel's Marina is a full service marina with a public accessible pumpout. This facility is open year around, hours of operation are Monday through Friday, from 8am to 4pm. Saturday and Sunday, from 8am to 5pm. The facility has a full service pumpout and a fee will be charged. A slip is available for pumpout usage. Access to this pumpout is limited to vessels with a length of no more than 45 feet. There are 2 portable pumpouts. The portable pumpouts are located on the dock. This facility has a Porta-Potty dump station. The porta potty dumpstation is located near the store.
Marine Services
Gasoline and diesel fuel can be purchased on site. There is a boat launch available for a fee. The facility offers a boat haul out. Over night moorage is available. The guest dock is 400 feet in length. There are 200 guest moorage slips available. The total estimated guest boat capacity is 200. Electrical hook up is available for a fee. Electrical power is available in 20 and 30 amps. It has been reported the minimum depth at mean low tide is 8 feet.
Day Use/Campground Accommodations
This facility also offers day use amenities. There are picnic tables available. The facility has a pay telephone available.
