Clean Vessel Program and Pumpout Locations

The federal Clean Vessel Act provides funds to help reduce pollution from vessel sewage discharges into U.S. waters. These funds come from taxes on the sales of fishing equipment and on recreational boating fuel. Washington State Parks makes grants to both public and private sector boating facility operators for the construction, renovation, operation and maintenance of pumpout and dump stations for use by recreational boaters. The program also provides boater education to promote public awareness about boat sewage and its proper disposal.

In 2011, Washington boaters prevented 4,093,514 gallons of sewage from contaminating Washington's waters by using Clean Vessel Act pumpout facilities.

A clean marine environment is very important for everyone to enjoy the beautiful bodies of water throughout Washington. Boaters can help keep Washington's waterways clean. Washington offers more than 150 disposal facilities with a variety of stationary and portable pumpouts that provide a convenient way to properly dispose of boat sewage. For additional convenience, on-the-water restrooms and pumpout skiffs that can service boats right in their slips also are available.

    The marina is owned by the Port of Shelton. Take I-5 to North 101, North 101 take Hwy 3, go thru shelton Outside Hwy 3 approx. half mile

 Pumpout Facility Information
Oakland Bay Marina - Shelton Yacht Club is a public marina with an accessible pumpout.  This facility is open year around, all seasons  24 hours a day.  The facility has a full service pumpout.  You will encounter a Sani-Salior pumpout at this facility.  Access to this pumpout is limited to vessels with a length of no more than 50 feet.  There is a stationary pumpout.  The stationary pumpout is located on the public pier.  

 Marine Services
There is a boat launch available.  Over night moorage is available for a fee.  The guest dock is 100 feet in length.  There are 112 guest moorage slips available.  The total estimated guest boat capacity is 60.  Electrical hook up is available for a fee.  Electrical power is available in 30 amps.  It has been reported the minimum depth at mean low tide is 20 feet.
