Beacon Rock
Technical rock climbing: The south face of Beacon Rock is open for technical rock climbing July 13 to Jan. 31. The northwest corner is open for climbing year round. The east face is closed for the protection of rare species, cultural and historical resources.

Belfair
Due to winter storm damage and flooding, Belfair State Park sites 162 and 164-166 will remain closed until further notice.

Blake Island
Blake Island State Parks Cascadia Marine Trail campground will be closed until further notice due to storm damage. These three campsites will not be available until Spring or early Summer. All other camping areas are open at this time.

There have been reports of barred owls behaving aggressively at Bridle Trails State Park. The owls appear to be attracted to moving objects such as mp3 player cables or long hair. Visitors are recommended to wave arms slowly and make noise to avoid an encounter if an owl is sighted. Staff will continue to monitor the situation and are working with the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife on solutions.
Please report any encounters (including the trail location) to the park ranger. If a ranger is unavailable, please leave a note in the pay station with details and contact information.

The primitive group camp at Brooks Memorial is closed for repair due to fire damage from last summer. Repair work is ongoing. If the group camp is still unsafe due to remaining fire damage by mid-May 2012, group camp reservations for summer 2012 will be accommodated in the unused areas of the park campground.

Flaming Geyser State Park is open to vehicular and foot traffic. The park can accommodate approximately 300 vehicles. Parking rules will be enforced, so visitors must park in authorized areas only. One restroom that is accessible to people with disabilities is open. Portable toilets will be provided throughout the park during the summer months. There is no water available in the park, and the lodge will remain closed. The park will undergo significant construction and upgrades on electrical, water and sewer as soon as environmental permits are obtained. Repairs are expected to take at least two years to complete.

Clayton Beach access closed: The access to Clayton Beach is closed until further notice, due to public safety concerns and to stop public trespass on private property. Previous access to the beach via unauthorized use of Burlington Northern Santa Fe property must be discontinued because of inadequate sight lines for pedestrians to see on-coming trains when crossing the rails to access the beach area. State Parks has plans for eventual construction of a rail overpass that will provide safe access to Clayton Beach, and Burlington Northern Santa Fe is in agreement with this plan.

Mount Constitution Road at Moran State Park may be subject to intermittent closures due to fluctuating snow levels and rapidly changing road conditions. Updated information will be posted at the bottom of Mount Constitution Road.

While water is unavailable, campsite fees for sites in the Mountain Lake campground will be reduced to primitive rates. The Cascade Lake to Cascade Falls trail also is closed during the project beginning Oct. 29. Hikers may access Cascade Falls from the trailhead on Mount Constitution Road. The closed section of trail will be marked at both trail intersections.

Due to resource management concerns, a portion of the lower day-use area of Saltwater State Park is closed to metal detecting until further notice. Please check with park staff prior to metal detecting in the park.
Please note: Alcohol is allowed only in the campground, by registered campers of legal age. It is not allowed in any other areas of the park.
Campfires are not allowed in the park however, charcoal and propane barbecues are permitted.
Sequim Bay
Park and campground closure (updated Jan. 2): Sequim Bay State Park is undergoing a construction project October 2012 through January 2013. The RV hook-up loop at the park will be closed for the duration of the project. Periodically, the entire park will be closed for construction.
