Walk in a winter wonderland at the Riverside State Park four-day holiday festival

OLYMPIA – Nov. 29, 2012 – The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission invites the public to the four-day Winter Wonderland festival at Riverside State Park in Spokane.

The festival runs from 6 to 8 p.m. daily Dec. 13 through 16 at the Bowl and Pitcher area of Riverside State Park, 4427 North Aubrey L. White Parkway in Spokane. Visitors may meet Santa Claus, listen to carolers and take a hay ride with a backdrop of lights along the suspension bridge and throughout the Bowl and Pitcher area. Hot chocolate, coffee, cider and baked goods are provided by the Riverside State Park Foundation. The event is open to participants of all ages and admission is $5 per person. The Discover Pass is not required to attend this event; the Riverside State Park Foundation has covered the access fee for event attendees as part of the event contract lease.

This event is presented in partnership with the Riverside State Park Foundation. The foundation is a non-profit organization assisting with the raising of fund and in-kind donations for Riverside State Park through project support, volunteering and events. Riverside State Park is a camping park along the Spokane and Little Spokane rivers in Eastern Washington. The park supports a wide variety of recreational activities and is rich in history. Freshwater marshes, running rivers and beautiful countryside make up the terrain. The park also includes the Nine Mile Recreation Area, which is available for camping, picnicking, swimming, fishing and boating.
