State Parks recruiting volunteers for the Seattle Boat Show

OLYMPIA – Jan. 11, 2013 – The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission Boating Program is recruiting for volunteers to help with the 2013 Seattle Boat Show.

The show will be held from Jan. 25 through Feb. 3 at the Centurylink Field Event and Exhibition Center in Seattle. Show hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Fridays, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays. Volunteers are needed to staff the booth throughout the show. The greatest need is for people who can volunteer for an entire day or for more than six hours, but help is needed for the tentative shifts listed below:

• Mondays through Thursdays: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 3 to 8 p.m.
• Fridays: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
• Saturdays: 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 3 to 8 p.m.
• Sundays: 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 2 to 6 p.m.

Visitors to the show will have an opportunity to check out new boats, boating equipment and fishing tackle, as well as get information about resorts and marinas. This year, the show will once again offer the "Boater Education Center." The center will feature all boating safety education organizations together in one location to provide one-stop shopping to learn about the new law and requirements and get questions answered by experts.

Boat show volunteers will receive the following:
• One Seattle Boat Show ticket per shift – plus two additional tickets to visit the show with a guest on another day.
• Parking paid for by the Boating Program on the day you volunteer (reimbursed through a voucher/form by State Parks).
