Annual Events

Volunteers at Pearrygin Lake State Park plant trees with shovels. Parking lot and trees in background.

Extra hands are always needed at once-a-year maintenance events. We invite individuals and groups to explore the following options:

Community Partnership Month is held throughout the state during April to celebrate Earth Day. Many parks hold volunteer events to improve parks and prepare for the summer months. Projects include tree planting, clean-up projects, landscaping, trail maintenance and nature walks.

Operation Shore Patrol is an annual beach cleanup that occurs the third weekend in September. All coastal state parks participate in this event in conjunction with the International Coastal Cleanup.

Small children pick up garbage on the beach at Cape Disappointment State Park, rocky shoreline and water in background.

Washington Coast Cleanup is an annual beach cleanup that occurs on a Saturday in late April. The cleanup spans almost the entire Washington coast and includes all coastal state parks. For more information, please visit www.CoastSavers.org.

Long Beach Peninsula cleanup events are held in January, April and July. For more information, visit www.Ourbeach.org.
