Individual volunteers provide a variety of services throughout the state parks system.
Individuals and couples may perform maintenance projects such as recycling, tree trimming
and lawn mowing. They may also provide assistance in the office or in specialized areas
such as interpretation, stewardship or historic research.
Many individuals provide services around their busy schedules by giving a few hours
each week or month to their local state park. Volunteers who stay in the park have the
same requirements and receive the same benefits as hosts.
For more information, contact your nearest state park, region office or the Volunteer
Programs Office.
ATTENTION NEW APPLICANTS: If you are applying for a host position or another volunteer position
which may include working around children or vulnerable adults, or processing credit/cash transactions, you must
first pass a federal background check.
A completed fingerprint card must be sent for each person applying
for a volunteer position.
