The Table Mountain Fire area will be open for winter recreation this winter, and main routes will be groomed, except the Naneum meadow road #3530 will only be groomed down to Naneum Meadow. Below there, and up into Howard Creek the area burned extremely hot and there are many unstable snags that are expected to fall during the winter. The 3521 side route will not be groomed. The rest of the area will be open. People should be aware that snags may fall unexpectedly and in greater numbers than usual, especially during a wind. Ride as if there’s a new tree down around every corner!
The Winter Season is here. Check back often for updates.
12/20/12: Grooming began 12/17/2012. The weather has been difficult. The snow is fluffy and doesn’t want to pack down yet. Huge Drifts. The Official Parking Lot has been sanitized, I believe there are 3 units in there.
