In 2010 Washington State Parks and Recreation worked with the Washington State Department of Transportation to develop a plan for the Sno-Park that meets the needs of park users while also meeting requirements for snow storage and storm water treatment.
Washington State Department of Transportation is using the Crystal Springs Sno-Park as a stockpile location during their work on their I-90 Snoqualmie Pass East project. In exchange for using Crystal Springs for several years, WSDOT has agreed to make some grading improvements to the Sno-Park when they leave.
