In 2014 Kopachuck State Park underwent a master planning process. The park's campground was closed because of a disease affecting many of the parks' mature trees. In 2010, the Parks and Recreation Commission approved a long-term plan for the park, but with the campground closure, it is now out of date. The Commission developed a new master plan based on the land classifications adopted as part of the 2010 planning process, updating the park plan to be in alignment with the park's current status as a day-use operation. The master plan and agenda item was approved at the July 2014 Commission meeting. The public can view the previous planning information online.
