17-078 State Parks Commission sets special meeting for 2018 work planning

OLYMPIA – Nov 28, 2017 – The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission will have a special planning meeting next week in Seattle.

The meeting is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, and will continue from 8 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, at Cedarbrook Lodge, 18525 36 Ave. S., Seattle. (Directions)

The Commission will take no formal action at this planning session. The meeting is open to the public; however, no public comment will be heard.

The meeting agenda includes a review by State Parks Commissioners and Agency Director Don Hoch of agency work done in 2017, updates from agency assistant directors on current projects and initiatives, a presentation from agency assistant directors on work plans and initiatives for 2018 and a general discussion with the agency’s assistant attorney general.

During the Dec. 6 meeting, the Commission will conduct executive sessions from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. and from noon to 1:30 p.m. to discuss the Director’s annual evaluation and performance agreement. Executive sessions are not open to the public. The Commission will make no formal decision during this session.
