Looking for a fun, educational activity for the entire family?

There are now Nature Backpacks available for check-out at Bay View State Park! Each backpack includes educational materials and a set of kid-friendly tools to help young explorers learn about nature. Inside, you’ll find binoculars, observation tools, colored pencils, a field journal, books, activities and more.

Visit us at the Bay View Registration Station to request a Nature Backpack. You can borrow a backpack for either 48 hours or one week.

Hood Canal Summerfest and Car Show

Enjoy a day of fun, food, music and cool cars at the Hood Canal Summerfest and Car Show! After two years off, the North Mason Rotary Club has announced they are bringing back their much-loved event (formerly Taste of Hood Canal) and revamping it to be bigger and better! Enjoy live music and entertainment, food trucks, art show, vendors and a beer and wine garden — as well as a waterfront classic car show! Do you have a car you'd like to show off? If so, the Hood Canal Summerfest is the perfect place to do so. All cars are welcome and there will be 9 categories, including the fan favorite "Peoples Choice Award"! Cost is $35 for judged cars and $25 for non-judged cars. Low tide beach walk

Join our Cama Beach Foundation Volunteers to learn about the critters who live in the Salish Sea. During this exceptionally low tide, a guide will be available to point out invertebrates and help you identify them.

Meet near the break in the sea wall on the south end of Cama Beach.

Is That Edible

Come learn which parts of the forest are edible as we hike, and snack, our way along the coastal forest loop. Easy, ½ mile round trip. Where: Meet at the Coastal Forest Loop Parking Lot. Discover Pass Required.

Junior Ranger Program

Youth and families are invited to participate in a fun filled 20-minute program designed just for them. Play games, sing songs, and explore. Best for youth 4-12, though all are welcome! An adult must be present for the entire duration of the program. Meet at amphitheater.

Cambodian Festival

The event celebrates the culture of the South Puget Sound Cambodian communities through traditional music, dance and drumming, along with activities, contests, displays and demonstrations for the entire family. Cambodian food will be available for purchase. Everyone is welcome.

American Roots Concert Series - Shifty Sailors

The Shifty Sailors hail from Whidbey Island. Their music celebrates the maritime history of the Puget Sound. The Sailors have worked to preserve the heritage of sailing ships, folklore, and songs of the sea for over 28 years.

Waikiki Beach Concert Series - Ian McFeron Band

Ian McFeron got his start performing for dock workers and fishermen in the Irish pubs and dive bars along Shilshole Bay in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle, WA. Early success in Seattle drew McFeron into a full-time recording and touring career. He would spend the next decade performing throughout the United States, growing a national audience and attracting media attention stretching across the Atlantic.

Mountain Melodies Concert Series - Eclectic Cloggers

The Eclectic Cloggers is a dance group that performs a high energy style of traditional Appalachian step dancing to live old time music. This percussive dance form comes from the eastern mountain region of the United States, where it began as a mix of Irish, Scottish and English step dances with African and Native American influences. Since 1982, the Eclectic Cloggers have performed at festivals and community events throughout the Northwest.

Jr Firefighter Program

Join us at 10am in the South Park Amphitheater where the local Fire Department talks about fire safety and shows their gear and fire engines to the crowd. See how much gear they carry and why. You can even try them on for yourself! Ever sprayed a fire hose? Give it a try at the Jr Firefighter Program. Program is subject to cancellation if Fire Department is called out to an emergency.
