Looking for a fun, educational activity for the entire family?

There are now Nature Backpacks available for check-out at Bay View State Park! Each backpack includes educational materials and a set of kid-friendly tools to help young explorers learn about nature. Inside, you’ll find binoculars, observation tools, colored pencils, a field journal, books, activities and more.

Visit us at the Bay View Registration Station to request a Nature Backpack. You can borrow a backpack for either 48 hours or one week.

Geocaching Adventure Labs

Visit Cama Beach and Camano Island State Parks for a digital treasure hunt!

Designed similar to existing geocaching activities, Adventure Labs will guide you through the parks as you solve questions using physical features within the landscape.

To begin an Adventure, download the official Geocaching Adventure Lab app for your iPhone or Android phone and create a free account.

Visit us at the Cama Beach Welcome Center to request a Nature Backpack. The Welcome Center is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. You can borrow a backpack for either 48 hours or one week.

Junior Ranger program

Join Park staff for this 1-hour kid-friendly program to learn about the park and the animals, plants, and humans that make their homes in our parks. Topics vary every week and can include Trees ID, Knots, Games, and so much more.

Located near the Cama Beach Historic Store.

All children must be accompanied by an adult. Weather dependent.

Toy boat workshop

Stop by The Center for Wooden Boats boathouse to learn how to build a wooden toy boat.

The best part? You get to bring it home as a souvenir!

$5 suggested donation.

Solar astronomy program

Join park staff for an informal program to learn about our planet’s closest star. Topics include sunspots, planets, and so much more.

Located near the Cama Beach Historic Store.

Guided hike

Get out on the trails with park staff to learn about the human and natural history of the park. Topics include park history, wildlife, and so much more!

The three C's of crabbing

Meet at the Camano Island State Park amphitheater at 7 p.m.

Have you ever wondered how to catch and cook crab?

Get a jump on the summer crabbing season with our local expert, Tom Eisenberg. Learn responsible crabbing techniques, species identification, information about licensing and seasons, and delicious cooking methods.

Bald eagle table talk

Join Park Staff to learn about the Bald Eagles that make the park their home. Hopefully you’ll get a chance to see them and this season’s young eagles!

Make and take home your own Crankie, a 19th century style moving picture show. For children and adults aged 7-90. No art skills required. This is a free event. At the Waikiki Beach Picnic Area. Discover Pass Required.

Waikiki Beach Concert Series - Podorythmie

Podorythmie, Quebecois for “foot rhythms,” is a four-member group hailing from France and the US. They're known for their high energy and good-time performances of Quebecois music and stepdancing. Fiddle and accordion songs and lots of hard shoe stepdancing interspersed with crankie shows combine to make a unique performance full of surprises.

Dark Sky Program

Bring a blanket and lay out under the stars at 10:00pm on the Lake Wenatchee South Park Beach. Park Ranger Paul will explore the night sky with the group and show how to spot constellations.
