Who, Who Lives in the Forest? - A Moran State Park Jr Ranger Program

-

No registration is required. A Discover Pass is needed to park.

Drop-in to dissect an owl pellet and learn the important role that owls play in the Park's ecosystem.

What owls live in the forests of the Pacific Northwest? What role do they play in the ecosystem? What do owls eat and what in the world is an owl pellet?

Join Ranger Kathy to dissect an owl pellet to uncover the bones it swallowed and identify its prey using identification charts.

Although all are welcome at our programs, this one is best suited for ages 6 and up. Parents are welcome to assist their children!

Participants will be using a variety of tools, including tweezers and small metal probes, to identify the bones of the animals eaten by owls.
