Spend your Saturday celebrating Earth Day at Deception Pass State Park by exploring, learning, and volunteering! Join for one activity or the entire day of events.

Celebrate Earth Day at Deception Pass State Park on Saturday, April 20th, explore, learn, and volunteer! Join for one activity or the entire day of events.

No registration required for individuals. Organized groups, such as community or youth groups, please contact DeceptionPass.Interpreter@parks.wa.gov so we can ensure there are enough supplies.

10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Bird Walk. Enjoy a hot drink and snacks before heading off to explore Bowman Bay to discover some of the common, and not so common, species of birds that call the park home.

12:00 p.m. Break for lunch. Join us for lunch and connect with others who love the park. Some snacks and light lunch items will be available, please feel free to bring your own food as well.

1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Restoration Event. Select from a variety of restoration activities at Bowman Bay. Activities include invasive removal, beach and trail clean-up.

  • From State Route 20, turn on to Rosario Road. 
  • Make an immediate left turn to follow signs to Bowman Bay boat launch. 
  • Follow signs from either parking lot to shelter.
